ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร. นพมาศ ปักเข็ม คณบดีพร้อมด้วยตัวแทนผู้บริหาร บุคลากร และนักวิจัยจากคณะวิทยาศาสตร์และนวัตกรรมดิจิทัล ได้เข้าร่วมในพิธีลงนามบันทึกข้อตกลงและความร่วมมือในการวิจัยและพัฒนากัญชาทางการแพทย์ ระหว่าง บริษัทคานนามา อินเตอร์เนชั่นแนล จำกัด ร่วมกับ มหาวิทยาลัยทักษิณ (ประเทศไทย) และ Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management & Technology (ประเทศมาเลเซีย) ณ โรงแรม นิวซีซั่น สแควร์ โดยมีผู้แทนและแขกผู้มีเกียรติที่เกี่ยวข้องจากทุกภาคส่วนเข้าร่วมเป็นสักขีพยานในครั้งนี้
โดยความร่วมมือในครั้งนี้เป็นการจับมือกันระหว่างมหาวิทยาลัยทักษิณ (ประเทศไทย) มหาวิทยาลัย TAR (ประเทศมาเลเซีย) และบริษัทเอกชนชั้นนำด้านกัญชาเพื่อการแพทย์ อย่าง Cannama International ซึ่งมีชื่อเสียงด้านความเชี่ยวชาญในการเพาะปลูกและวิจัยกัญชาทางการแพทย์ระดับโลก โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนางานวิจัยทางด้านกัญชาเพื่อการแพทย์เพื่อเพิ่มมูลค่าทางการรักษาทางการแพทย์ให้กับกัญชาได้ ความร่วมมือครั้งนี้ถือเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของการพัฒนาศักยภาพสำหรับทั้งสองสถาบัน และถือเป็นโอกาสสำคัญของคณะวิทยาศาสตร์และนวัตกรรมดิจิทัล และมหาวิทยาลัยในการยกระดับหลักสูตรและการเตรียมความพร้อมนิสิตสำหรับก้าวทันความก้าวหน้าของอุตสาหกรรมสำหรับโลกอนาคต สิ่งสำคัญที่สุดคือ ความร่วมมือนี้จะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อสังคมโดยมีส่วนช่วยในการพัฒนาองค์ความรู้เพื่อเข้าใจถึงศักยภาพของกัญชาทางการแพทย์ได้มากยิ่งขึ้น และยังเป็นการเปิดประตูให้กับการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมกัญชาผ่านการวิจัยทางวิทยาศาสตร์ที่ก้าวหน้า และส่งเสริมผู้เชี่ยวชาญที่มีทักษะรุ่นใหม่ที่พร้อมจะรับมือกับความท้าทายระดับโลก รวมทั้งยังช่วยผลักดันการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจอย่างยั่งยืน ความร่วมมือในครั้งนี้ จึงนับเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการริเริ่มที่แสดงให้เห็นถึงศักยภาพของความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศที่จะช่วยผลักดันงานวิจัยในระดับนานาชาติและอุตสาหกรรมทางด้านกัญญาให้ก้าวไปข้างหน้าและสร้างผลกระทบอันยั่งยืนต่ออุตสาหกรรมกัญชาทางการแพทย์ในระดับโลกได้อย่างแน่นอน
On January 16, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Samak Kaewsuksang, Vice President for Research and Innovation, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Nopamas Pakkhem, Dean, and representatives from the Faculty of Science and Digital Innovation—comprising executives, staff, and researchers—attended a signing ceremony for a memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in medical cannabis research and development. This event took place at the New Season Square Hotel, Hat Yai, Songkhla and was witnessed by esteemed representatives and guests from various sectors.
This collaboration marks a partnership between Thaksin University (Thailand), TAR University (Malaysia), and Cannama International Co., Ltd., a leading private company in the field of medical cannabis known for its expertise in cultivation and global research. The objective of this collaboration is to enhance medical cannabis research to increase its value in therapeutic applications. This initiative represents the beginning of a significant development opportunity for both institutions and is pivotal for the Faculty of Science and Digital Innovation and the university in elevating curricula and preparing students to keep pace with advancements in the industry of the future.
Most importantly, this partnership will benefit society by contributing to the development of knowledge aimed at understanding the potential of medical cannabis further. It also opens avenues for the advancement of the cannabis industry through cutting-edge scientific research and promotes the emergence of a skilled, new generation of experts ready to tackle global challenges. Furthermore, it aids sustainable economic growth. Thus, this collaboration is regarded as a significant step forward, demonstrating the potential of international cooperation to advance research at the global level and propel the cannabis industry forward, thereby creating a sustainable impact on the medical cannabis sector worldwide.
